It’s the coldest day of the year so far and it’s also Valentine’s Day! I’m sure everyone is cuddling up close to their loved ones to stay warm on this very frigid day on Nantucket. I was told that Nantucket harbor was steaming with fog and mist or also called sea smoke from the extreme temperatures so I decided to bundle up and venture out to take some pictures on this sunny but FREEZING February day. I started at Monomoy beach to capture the frozen harbor with Brant Point Lighthouse in the distance, then continued to Washington Street extension where many scallops were wrapped in ice. Lastly Brant Point beach displayed beautiful wave patterns in the ice with the cool sea smoke rolling off the water.
