Caribbean Family Vacation
Puerto Rico | Part 1
A bit overwhelming to put our whole vacation in one post (there will be two parts). Puerto Rico is an amazing and very fun island to visit! It all came about over a year ago as all of us friends decided we wanted to go vacationing together to a warm location over school break. One of the top priorities was to have a house large enough to fit four families comfortably with water access. This is not hard to find in the Caribbean. As we narrowed it down to Puerto Rico, this amazing villa showed up on VRBO and we knew it was the one!
After traveling all night, we arrived in Aguadilla around 4:30 a.m. along with two other families. We rented cars for the entire ten days so we could come and go as we pleased. The property we stayed at was perfect! Villa Carambola has everything you could need for an amazing vacation – large sitting areas, multiple porches, grill, every family had their own bathroom, pool toys, beach supplies, beach towels, washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen and an absolutely stunning sunset every night (I don’t think the pictures do it justices on the amazing view!).
One of the best treats of renting a house is hiring a chef and between four families this was very reasonable. The home owners recommend a local daughter father team, Cruzine Catering & Event Planning. Sandy and her dad, Maelo were absolutely the best! They were so easy to work with and always had a smile. They interacted with the kids and had many stories to tell to go along with their delicious food they prepared for us on four different nights. The highlight was when we had a pig roast at the villa to celebrate our vacation and my husband’s birthday. We had so much food!
If you’re looking for a relaxing, secluded retreat with your family and friends or even a wedding, this place is it!
Most of these photos were taken on IPhone’s, gathered amongst the group (thank you all for your help). The inside house pictures are from the villa’s website.
