The Nantucket Daffodil Parade
Nantucket Antique Car Parade and Daffy Dog Parade
Nantucket enjoyed the last weekend of April with wonderful spring weather as we celebrated the start of the season with the 42nd annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival. The island was hopping with many activities and events throughout the entire weekend. The show-stopper was the Antique Car Parade and Tailgate Picnic. More than one hundred cars lined Main Street on Saturday as family, friends and fans cheered on their favorite automobile. From Model T Fords, a Chevy Camaro, military trucks with “Green Army Men” –all caught the eyes of spectators.
Cars aren’t the only thing people ooohed and ahhed over in town! Tail-wagging, cold nosed canines dressed up in their Daffy apparel as they paraded down the cobblestone street while judges looked on. The 7th Annual Daffy Dag Parade had almost as many participants [well maybe not that many :)] as the Antique Car Parade!! Proceeds benefited Nantucket Safe Harbor for Animals.
Enjoy a few of my favorite cars and dogs that caught my eye!
