ENGAGEMENTS AND PORTRAIT SESSION QUESTIONS

HOW DO YOU APPROACH ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?

I believe that my engagement sessions are a great way to get to know my couples. I always approach my engagement sessions as if it is the three of us exploring. It makes it much more relaxing for my couples. My posing is guided, but natural, to showcase my couple’s personalities. I can’t wait to go explore more!

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR SESSION?

Sessions should be scheduled a minimum of one month prior and is subject to my availability. Weekend sessions are confirmed 4 weeks prior to the session, as weddings are sometimes booked in such a short time frame. A week prior to the session we finalize location and time.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR OUR SESSION?

I love scheduling my engagement sessions when daylight is at its best. Light is most beautiful at sunrise and sunset. For morning sessions, I suggest starting 5 minutes prior to sunrise. For afternoon/evening sessions, I suggest scheduling the session so that it ends 15 minutes prior to sunset in the summer and 30 minutes prior to sunset in the Fall/Spring/Winter.

WE CAN’T DECIDE ON A LOCATION, CAN YOU HELP US PICK A PLACE?

Of course! I have shot in many beautiful places that often get overlooked. I believe you should feel comfortable and relaxed at your location be it the beach, a park, town or even your home. I can also provide you with links to some blog posts to give you some ideas.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

This is the question that gets asked most frequently! The BEST advice I can give about outfit selection would be to try to COORDINATE instead of matching. Try to stay away from really tiny patterns, they won’t show up in your images. Also, bold jewelry, scarves, and colored shoes photograph really well! Make sure you look like YOU and feel comfortable!

WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE FOR A RETAINER?

For engagement and portrait sessions, 50% of the portrait collection is due upon booking with 100% of the remaining balance due on the day of your session.

HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE OUR IMAGES?

For engagement and portrait images, color corrected digital images are uploaded to an online gallery, at the latest, 2 weeks from your session.

HOW MANY DIGITAL IMAGES DO WE RECEIVE?

For engagement and portrait sessions, you will receive a minimum of 40 color correct digital images. These images will be uploaded to an online gallery and are ready to print!
